Hi Fritz, No I am not familiar with this site. I appreciate your response, I was really just not sure of the first letter of the name. I just discovered today the Explore Historical Images site. I love the map feature as that allowed me to find the birth record for this couple's son and a daughter, as well as the death record of their mother. Now I need to try to find Dominicus' death record, their marriage, and their births. Meg

    Meg,

this is a GREAT site and very helpful with figuring out names. I was not sure of the first letter either. I had an idea of what it was, but was not sure. so, I plugged in what I knew and it confirmed what I suspected. You can search on there by parts of words--that is one of the most important features.

Why don't you go in and play with it. Plug in the last letters and put the search to 'eindigt op.' That will give you the names that end with what you put in. Give that a try and you can retrace my steps. You will learn how to use this and it will be a great help to you in your research. Please ask if you need any help with this. I am more than happy to help you.

Oh, by the way, there is an English interface (I never translate Dutch or German sites to English, so don't always know if they have an English version. I checked and it does. SO. you can set the search to 'ends in.'

Please let me know how you come along with this.
