First of all I would like to thank you for being here in this oft times difficult process of finding unknown family members. This is a tremendous resource.

My bio father was adopted in 1933 .My fathers adoptive mother was very active in the church. She served a mission and worked in the genealogy research dept. and Relief Society etc. My father was told he was a "family" adoption and if he would do his church work (genealogy) he would know who his bio parents were.

My DNA test was done through Ancestry the results brought me into contact to bio half sisters I didn't know about. Thus enabling me to separate my paternal from maternal line. Through this I have been able to identify two potential family surnames with strong DNA matches to me.

I have spoken with the clerks office of the county where they lived and they have no record of his adoption. I also received a copy of his birth certificate however it was a delayed certificate dating to 1960.

I am wondering since my adoptive grandparents were so active in the church would it be possible to search church records for any record of his adoption and sealing?
