I need help with Hans' last name. I looked at the one HHE he is in and his kids' birth records but still just guessing. Thank you in advance!

    I believe it's Hans Svenningsson from Öringe, Veinge, Halland, died 1791-01-29 in Öringe, according to the indexed birth records he should have been born 1729-02-28 in Veinge parish, I can't find his birth record in Veinge. According to the index, Hans Svenningsson's father was Svenning Nilsson

    In this record his last name is written as Svenßon (Svensson) which is the more common form. 'Svenning' is the diminutive of 'Sven' (little/young Sven).

    The spelling of his name suggests that the priest was german. Also, I think Hans Svenningsson was his name. Svenningsson was not used at all in the middle parts of Sweden where I'm from but in Halland it was a pretty common name after Halland became Swedish in 1668. I'm not sure if the name is a heritage from Denmark
