Downloaded Gedcom so I could attach files

I downloaded a Gedcom file so I could attach about 515 files to my tree. I cannot find a way to consistently attach those files. Most of the time they do not attach. I end up repeating an attachment process four, five, six times. Sometimes it never attaches because it can't find the person in my tree. For instance, trying to attach records to me, or my father, it is frustrating because it will ask me for a name, so I give it a name, and then it wants an ID number and makes me type in all information I had downloaded in the first place. if I cannot find a simpler way to do this, I will simply get rid of Famils Search and all my files, which is a shame because some of the information I have not found any other place. Could you make your directions EASY. Like one or two clicks, instead of do this step and 14 more, then do this, and 12 more, and put in info that you've already downloaded. You make the process harder than it really needs to be.

    I may not be fully understanding your question, so please forgive me if I am confused.

    I want to be sure which FamilySearch tree capability you are referring to. Are you referring to….

    (A) the standard FamilySearch single global family tree, or…

    (B) are you a member of the early test group for the new individual CET capability that is currently in early trial and has not been publicly released yet, and you have created a CET family tree to which you are trying to upload GEDCOM data?

    It sounds like you are referring to the first option (A), the standard FamilySearch single global family tree. If you are referring to this global FamilySearch tree, then it is not possible to upload a GEDCOM file to this tree.

    GEDCOM upload is possible, but only into private CET trees, and only if you are an early tester of the private CET tree function which is not yet on public release.

    @SharonSwift1 Would you please clarification this issue for us? What type of files are you trying to attach? How are you attaching those files - as a source or as a memory, etc.)? If you have uploaded your GEDCOM to a CET, please provide the name of the GEDCOM, the name of your CET, and the approximate date it was created.
