Multiple questionable merges for
Profiles of relatives and spouse found under changes for Sarah Turner including two performed this year for spouse William Gray. I point it out because there is clearly something off like conflated profiles or (?) Plus it really bothers me when a merge is completed and says "match" or " exact dupe" and literally the second data points (d.o.b. 1 and 2) are over a decade apart. This alone should be a flag to review but the same user 1.put both merges in the direction of the newest profile, 2.deleted notes made by earlier members eith access to a center or church records because they have the user id codes (things I have not worked with but feel must have some importance for finding the person or their records when in a FamilySearch facility. The most recent person merged out was ID: GSCS-XKY and they were the surviving person from penultimate merge which deleted ID: L15C-PHF . Both times the user favoured a non- sourced d.o.b. of 1703 but both times person was merged out they had a specific d.o.b. 21 August 1717. Also, Death location of deleted is Rowan County, NC, USA but merging party always keeps Surry, VA, USA and again, never makes note of these key differences. Without reopening all past persons I can still see that a name Charles was on both originals of the deleted persons- again strange and seeming as if someone is not following sources but customizing a profile to fit their "needs". It is a direct line of mine as well and I have been tasked with creating the respective profiles for the couple on WikiTree and want to make sure I am sharing factual evidence and historically relevant data with both FamilySearch and WikiTree. I'd also like to point out the person completing merges prefers to ignore this contributor's corrections of removing "USA" from pre-1776 locations and adding the incorrect location name during each merge. I've never been able to successfully post here and this may be a bunch of nonsense in the wrong place, for which I apologize in advance. It just seems the only "recourse" for discussions or bringing attention to repetitive merge issues (this is small compared to many others) and I wanted to see what happened if I posted. Cheers!

@Beliza16 Thank you for your feedback!
We are definitely concerned about merge and maintaining the quality of the tree. We are investigating what kinds of tools we might add to guide people to make better decisions.
Have you opted into the new merge experience and seen all the warnings we give there?
We've also added a new reason statement generator in the new merge experience that has reduced the number of reason statements that say "match" or " exact dupe"
Thanks again for your feedback!0
