Finding the records on CZ/PL borders

Heallo,

my ancestor seems to be borned on the opposite side of the CZ/PL border.

Marriage record https://digi.archives.cz/da/permalink?xid=be89380e-f13c-102f-8255-0050568c0263&scan=892506f9ba52419397b2fa21ccd26f30 says the Anna Galuschka was born 1.6.1812 in Ober Marklowitz

Looking on Geneteka, I'm not able to find her. Is there a way how to go directly into book? As long as I know the exact birth date, should be quite easy to find the record.

Thank you!

You may try the following searches:

    Chechia Research - Community

Familysearch - Search - Records - many of those records have been indexed there

MyHeritage - subscription site, but free in your neighborhood Branch of Familysearch Library, search for the center by going to Familysearch center using your local computer

    Thank you for your reply.

MyHeritage is trying to sold me my very own tree ;-)

I was hoping for the PL archives online where the books might be available.

I checked Polish Archives and they only have birth records for Marklowice Gorne beginning in years 1894, nothing before. You may contact them at e-mail: apcieszyn@katowice.archiwa.gov.pl. and ask if they know if records for year 1812 for Marklowice Gorne are avaialble in Marklowice Gorne Parish or Diocese Archives.

Below is the only information from Polish State Archives for Marklowice Gorne.

    Marklowice Górne, commune Zebrzydowice

    dates:

    1894-1913

Confessionrzymskokatolickie Type of acturodzenia reference code:

    14/431/0

    archives:

Archiwum Państwowe w Katowicach Oddział w Cieszynie

You may contact them writing in English asking about your records. Please note also that in Polish Galuschka would be spelled Galuszka and there are many entries in Geneszukacz.genealodzy.pl of Galuszka people. Maybe you could search by her parents, if you know them.

Kontakt. Archiwum Państwowe w Katowicach Oddział w Cieszynie.

    e-mail: apcieszyn@katowice.archiwa.gov.pl.

    Thank you for your reply.

Her parents (as listed in her wedding records) were Jan Galuszka and Dorota Gogutek.

For sure, I would love to find more about her, her parents, her grandparents, but if those books are offline, it might be difficult.

I'll try to reach Archiwum Państwowe w Katowicach Oddział w Cieszynie. If they really have the books it may be worth to setup the physical travel and check.

    Thank you for your help!

I've got the reply from Archiwum Państwowe w Katowicach Oddział w Cieszynie.

Basically, they're saying the record is not available at their side and they're recommending to contact local church.

So I think I'm back on the beginning.

    Szanowny Panie,
Archiwum Państwowe w Katowicach Oddział w Cieszynie informuje, że w
przechowywanym w tutejszym Archiwum zasobie nie posiadamy aktu urodzenia Anny
    Galuszka/Gałuschka, urodzonej w dniu 1 czerwca 1812 roku w Marklowicach Górnych, córki
    Jana Galuszki i Doroty Gogutek.
Informujemy, że w tutejszym Archiwum posiadamy zespół akt 14/431 Akta stanu
cywilnego Parafii Rzymskokatolickiej w Zebrzydowicach z lat 1888-1938, w którym znajdują
się księgi urodzeń z lat 1889-1913. Ponadto zespół akt został częściowo zdigitalizowany i jest
    dostępny na stronie: https://siliusradicum.pl/ksiegi-metrykalne/asc-parafiirzymskokatolickiej-
    zebrzydowice-seibersdorf/.
W celu odszukania wyżej wymienionego aktu urodzenia proponujemy zwrócić się do
    właściwego konfesyjnie urzędu parafialnego.

I can make a telephone call to Marklowice Gorne Parish on Tuesday to find out if they have records for year 1812, if that is OK with you, I presume that you have already checked for those records on the Check side of the border.

    That would be awesome!

I've once again checked the available CZ records.

There are no books from Gorne Marlowice, those are probably held by PL side. Most close I could find are the books for Dolne Marklowice https://digi2.archives.cz/da/permalink?xid=be8ad57e-f13c-102f-8255-0050568c0263&scan=bd8c98967a8c49cfb3437f1a56628337

    but no Galuszka there.

    Thank you!

    Josef

I was able to contact a priest from Marklowice Gorne and he told me that the records for year 1812 from Marklowice Gorne should be in Zebrzydowice Parish, which was parish for Marklowice at that time. I have just talked with priest in Zebrzydowice (near Marklowice Gorne) and he told me that they do not answer those questions on the phone. They require that the questions be sent to them by email in Polish to their address parafia@zebrzydowice.eu

You may send to Polish Community the email you need to have translated, brief, to the point, and I will translate it for you.
