Please look at the Erik Nilsson family on both of these pages. Lännäs Parish, Örebro, Sweden
1881 - 1885 Lännäs Parish, Örebro, Sweden = what does the word (adopt) ? mean?
1876-1880 Lännäs, Örebro, Sweden census = Can anyone please explain to me what the names are of some of the children? I know that Eva Lotta is his 2nd wife. Did Eva adopt the children from his first wife???? Very confusing to me.

The word is odöpt, which means 'not baptized'.

Ulrich must not have noticed that there are two pages you are asking about or I am sure that he would have addressed this second page. He always gives very thorough and accurate answers to questions in the community!
The Records you are asking about are "Household Examination Records". For a better understanding of what they are and what they contain, check out this page in the FamilySearch Wiki: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Sweden_Household_Examination_Records
The second page you are asking about records the status of the family of Erik Nilsson and his wife Eva Lotta Larsdotter. The first 3 children in this record are children of Erik Nilsson's first marriage. They are son Anders (b. 5 July 1853), son Gustaf (b. 23 Sept 1856) and daughter Anna Mathilda (b. 22 Sept 1859). Gustaf's name is crossed out because he has moved out. The rest of the children are children of Erik Nilsson and Eva Lotta Larsdotter. There names and birthdates are: son August (b. 26 Nov 1868), daughter Maria (b. 23 June 1869), son Adolf (b. 10 June 1871), daughter Josefina (b. 17 May 1873), son Conrad (b. 1 April 1875), son Oscar (b. 22 Jan 1877) and son Oscar Adolf (b. 3 May 1878). They are all "unbaptised", probably because the father is listed as being a Baptist and didn't allow these children to be baptised in the Lutheran church.
The last child, is an illegitimate child of Anna Mathilda. He is a son, Rudolf, and born 23 Sept 1880.
The first 3 children (Anders, Gustaf and Anna Mathilda) were christened in the Lutheran church because they have confirmation dates listed (1868, 1871 and 1874 respectively).
Four of the unbaptised (in the Lutheran church) children died. Their names are crossed out and their death dates are in the 11th column on the page.

Thank you to both Ulrich and Norm for your wonderful answers! I was wondering about the word 'Baptist' as I have a number of my Swedish ancestors that did convert to the Baptist faith!
This community has always been so helpful to me! Thank you all a thousand times over! 😍🤗
