Need Assistance. Looking for death record for my 2nd greatGrandfather and 1 Quetion
Hello
I am looking for the death record of Jean Baptise Godmer Born 1815 and death unkown. He married Emeli Prolux in St.Benoit 1836. She was born 1816 and died 1889. last record i have on Jean Baptise is the 1901 Canada census in St.Scholastique Quebec. Here is the link to this document https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSS1-G9NS-H?lang=en.
He is 85 years old here. I am still searching and it could be a church death record or maybe a
Civil record. I have seen that if its pre 1900 there is more church records available but when i get to the 1900s the records are different. Your time and assistance is very much appreciated .
Now my quetion is. On the above 1901 census record it shows LIA DROUIN as Jean Baptise's daughter. Could this be a relation to the drouin archives/institute family??
I thank you for your time and assistance.

Jean Baptiste Godmer was buried 2 sep 1902 in Ste Scholastique; he apparently died 3 days before, or 30 august 1902. The death record states his age was 87, and he is widower of Emelie Proulx. I am pasting in a screen shot of the record from Ste Scholastique. There are more signatures at the top of the next page.
On your second question, his daughter Lea married Hormidas Drouin 30 may 1882 in Ste Scholastique. Hormidas Drouin is son of Calixte Drouin and Esther Legault (according to the marriage record). I do not know the exact relationship of this family to the Drouin Institute founders, but I am pretty sure they would be related (as most French Canadians are - at least distantly). Here is a link to information about the founders of the Drouin Institute:
My best wishes to you.

Hello again linda. Thank you again for your time and assistance. I see he died not long after the 1901 census. Lived a long life then. Another great thing about the document is the handwriting is very readable. As for the drouin name, i will now make that another part of my research if there is a relation. I will set it aside for now for i am still tracking noah. Once again i thank you so very much for your help and assistance in the research of my family the godmers.
I also Wish you all the best in life
