Family Search is slow and takes forever to sign in. My computer is only 6 months old but I've been having this problem for the past 2 months. Anyone else experiencing this problem.

How are other sites loading? Are you able to do a Speedtest dot net check and does it measure within about 80% of what your advertised speed is supposed to be?

Having same issues on/off for a few weeks; I assumed it was (Europe) site updates but no-one else seems to mention it? On random days FS site will slow to a crawl, pages take 5+ mins to load /every edit - no other sites affected, internet speedtest fine. Cleared cookies /cache - via browser, CCleaner & also FS. Tried Firefox, Edge & Chrome, disabled ad blockers, re-started PC, signed out/in. Went & made pot of Tea, giving 'it' time to consider it's unhelpful actions.. Also a recurrence of an issue when trying to submit non-indexed place names; after pressing submit it will say 'Parent place not found' despite a standard parent place name being input; Is it just me ?!

@AshFrost can you confirm you're using a FS-supported browser and operating system, please? See https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/which-internet-browsers-are-compatible

I'm sure you will have tried clearing your FamilySearch cookies (https://www.familysearch.org/en/cookies) but, if not, does it help?

Do you have any ad blockers, popup blockers, or browser extensions active? If so, do you get the same results with those switched off?

Does the same occur for your account on all computers? And what happens on your computer if you use a different account?

Finally, are you using a vpn?

Sorry about all the questions but it's hard to help with such issues without this information.

@MandyShaw1 I'm located in Germay and can confirm the extreme slowliness occuring since a few weeks. And to answer your questions:

    No vpn used

On a very fast optic fiber connection from the largest german provider

Eperiencing it on Android Tablet, Laptop and strong PC (both with WIN 11 pro fully updated). Same at work PC on a different optic fiber connection from another Provider.

Cookies and caches are cleared in Chrome und Edge Browsers, also fully updated. No browser extensions etc on hand.

    Same with my wifes account,

The slow behaviour is random as for the time of day and duration, but happening on 6 out of 7 weekdays.

    Thanks @Lars van Ravenzwaaij.

I have flagged this with the new 'Report a Bug' flag option, with the text 'Please see details provided by the OP and by Lars, this is clearly an issue the engineers need to look at.'
