I apologize for any misunderstandings that may have been caused by this group.

Memories is NOT going away! In fact, we are upgrading to newer and better technology, adding brand-new features, and enhancing existing ones.

The "People" and "Find" pages under the "Memories" tab were built using very old technology that has since been discontinued—unfortunately, this was beyond our control. However, the rest of the Memories experience (including the Overview, Gallery, Memory Uploader, Memory Viewer, and the memories viewable on your Tree) has already been upgraded. We're continuing to make improvements, including faster load times, support for larger galleries, and—hopefully—better tagging across multiple trees. These upgrades are high priorities for us.

It’s true that topic tags cannot currently be searched. But please don’t stop adding them! Thank you for sharing that topic tags matter to you—they matter to me as well. 😊

I’ll be honest: the "Find" and "People" pages didn’t always meet expectations. For example:

• The "People" page only displayed family members if memories were already attached to them. Was that the best approach? Or should there be a section for close relatives with no attached memories?
• The "Find" page could return photos titled "Mary Smith" if you searched for "Mary Smith," but it wouldn’t find "Mary Ann Smith." This is something we can—and should—improve.
• It would also be helpful, in my opinion, to search by date ranges or regions (like countries), or even by name variations in different languages. What else would improve your experience?

What would you like to see first? A smarter search engine—or a feature that automatically groups all memories of your immediate family into one album?
