Hello I received this record from the State Archives in Poland via email. I am trying to find someone who would be willing to transcribe to clarify if this is my great Uncle by confirming if the last name is Schlamm?

Thank you in advance

Chrissy

    Translated from Polish:

Dated: 20th August 1913, Birth Record No. 181, Winiary, the Officer of Civil Records Office reported that Elder known to him as a milkman (? Dojarz), Friedrich Schlamm, showing that he lives in Naramowice, being of Evangelical faith, stated that Marta Schlamm, born Krause, his wife, of Evangelical faith, who lives with him in Naramowice, gave birth in his home on 19th August 1913, at noon at 6 o’clock, to a male infant, and that this infant was given name Otto Friedrich. This record was read, accepted, and signed: Friedrich Schlamm. The Officer of the Civil Records Office: Büttner

Both Naramowice and Winiary are on the map of Poland if you type: pilot.pl, download the map, X the advertisements, then click on Ukryj on the right next to Hotele, to eliminate all Hs which are hotel advertisemnts, then enter the name of any community, e.g. Winiary or Naramowice in the top box on the right, you may use circles to zoom in and out, click on any those places you requested on the map, and move the mouse without pressing on it to another place, and you will find the distance in kilometers in the right lower corner in the red box. You may see the distance they travelled to report the birth of the child. Both of those communities are within Poznan District. I hope you use Poznan Project and Basia.famula.pl for individual search. Enjoy your research.

Thank you so much! That confirms the birth is with the correct parents. I have used the Poznan Project but didn’t know about the second website. I hope this opens the door for finding more about the Schlamm side. I have had no luck finding anything about Friedrich.

    Again thank you!
