Add Person by ID number
Is there a way to add a person in my CET using the ID number of a person in the FamilySearch Tree? I am given that option when I go to add a person, but then I get a message that says, "This person is from a different tree and cannot be added to this tree." Is this something that is a problem with the CET? Or, is it a feature that will be available for the CETs at some point in the future? It sure would save a lot of typing.
Thank you!

@Ida Houston ID numbers are unique to a FamilySearch tree 'type'. IDs for individuals in the FamilySearch Family Tree that you may also have in your CET will be different, even though they are for ostensibly the same person. That is why you are getting the message 'This person is from a different tree…'. As you note, you will need to 'create' an individual in your CET. Using that new/unique ID created to add Sources and relationships. The ability to 'import' an individual from the FamilySearch Family Tree into your CET is something that is actively being worked on [last I heard]….
'til then you'll need to build your CET ID manually, adding the vitals, sources and family relationshth

@Ida Houston @Mark McKenzie_1 Thank you both for testing early access CET. The Tree2Tree feature has not been put into production yet, but when it is, it will aid in transferring data between trees. For now, it is a manual process. Keep watching!

You are correct Mark, We are making great progress on the Tree2Tree hinting and the new TreeLinker tool that will allow you to align two trees and copy data between trees. We'll be doings some large scale testing on this internally this week. Based on how quickly we can resolve any bugs we find, we anticipate that this will be released shortly.
Ida, the very definition of a tree is that it is a bounded dataset. Person IDs cannot exist in two trees simultaneously and they cannot be moved from one tree to another. The new TreeLinker that we will soon be releasing will allow you to copy a person from one tree to another. However, the way this will be done is that we will create a new PID in the target tree and then copy all the data from the source PID in TreeA to the newly created PID in treeB.0
