Hello,

You asked for our feedback. I was just about to complete a scholarly paper to be sent to a number of individuals and organizations in Salt Lake City about one of my ancestors. I was using some of the Memories in my endnotes as primary sources. I was so shocked when I came back as I am finishing up my paper today to see that this has disappeared. The reason I chose to link to this site and not to Ancestry.com (for some of this information) is because not everyone can afford or has a subscription to Ancestry.com and I have always been so thankful at how accessible FamilySearch has always been. I wanted my endnotes to be accessible, and I don't really have the time to re-do all of the endnotes. Not all of the same sources are guaranteed to be on Ancestry. This saddens me.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Russell

Thank you for providing feedback. And our sincere apologies for disrupting your work! Though you can still access Memories and Memories tools, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee when the "People" or "Find Memories" pages will be available again.

We are logging all responses from this group. They will be shared with the Memories Team. We truly appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts.

    Hi Elizabeth,
Can you please elaborate on your concern regarding your paper? All the memories still exist and the links to them haven't changed. Your ability to do further searching using the Find and People pages are temporarily down but I'm hoping that doesn't affect your endnotes (assuming those point to the actual memory). Please let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks! (P.S., I'm the product manager for Memories)

Buenas tardes. Espero pronto podamos volver a tener acceso. Gracias

Good afternoon. I wanted to ask if we'll be able to access all our memories once the maintenance is complete. It's taken me a lot of time, work, and effort to obtain the memories and photographs of our ancestors, and now they're unavailable. I hope we can regain access soon. Thank you.

As Mark stated above: "All the memories still exist and the links to them haven't changed. Your ability to do further searching using the Find and People pages are temporarily down"….but hopefully that does not affect your work with Memories.

We do hope to restore these pages soon so that you can continue to find Memories of your ancestors. We appreciate your feedback and your patience. Thank you.

    Google Translate:

Gracias.

Please make no delay in restoring the People section of memories. I am trying to engage my ward in doing family research and include their stories. This has been a treasure to help them see the possibilities in doing research and in finding more about the people in each family line whether near or distant.

I use find in memories is one of the most valuable parts of FamilySearch, Both of my grandparents came from small towns, one in Utah and the other in Idaho. Searching for photos in small towns is wonderful. Please keep this feature.
