Yes, thank you. Information came from Archion. The family was North Frisian and lived on Hallig LangeneB-Nordmarsch. Bestattungen 1763-1979—Schleswig-Holstein-Landeskchliches Archiv der Evangelisch-Lutherishen Kirche in Norddeutschland-Kirchenkreis Nordfriesland. Hope I put this down right!

Thank you, but I am very confused. The German Group referred me to this Nordic Groupl. My family was originally from Denmark, and these records were found on Archion. The family lived on the Hallig Langeness and the language is most likely Frisian.

Buried: the "poetry of death" is dated 3 March 1775 (some kind of rite or ceremony)
Note: Baptized 10 November 1737, married 17 January 1768
Melf Lorentzen, legitimate son of the sailor Lorentz Melfsens and Helena Lorentzen of Mattjenswarf [possibly Mayenswarf on Nordmarsch-Langeness], married with Johanna, legitimate daughter of "seaport pastor" Friederik Flors of Langeness, survived by one son. Presumably on May 27, 1774, he stayed in the area of Holland on a cruise from the Baltic Sea and neither he nor the sailor Pavel Paulsen[maybe Pouel Pouelsen] nor the other passengers on the ship found any accommodation or food.
[Please note that sailors were at sea on journeys for several months at a time. This may have been when the ship returned to port and the entire community mourned those who died at sea during the journey.
The exact translation of "die Gedichtist Tode" interpreted as Poetry of Death, and "Seeh Pastoren" interpreted as seaport pastor MAY not be perfectly accurate translations. There is at least one Latin abbreviation on this document (ao. = in the year of), and these phrases may be interpreted differently if they are mixed Latin and German, etc.]0 -

A few remarks:
- The abbreviation before "Pastor" is seel. [seelig], meaning "deceased". It has nothing to do with See = sea.
- I have no access to the record in Archion, so I can't read the left column fully. However, the word there is Gedächtniß (not Gedicht) meaning memory, memorial. It probably indicates that a memorial service was held for Melf Lorentzen instead of a funeral, as he was missed at sea .
- This is consistent with the final sentence, which reads: und ist von ihm sowohl als dem Schiffer Pauel Pauelsen und den mitgeführten auf dem Schiffe gar keine Nachricht oder Spur gefunden worden. Translation: "and no news or trace has been found of him or the skipper Pauel Pauelsen or those on board the ship."
