Anyone know where Hanowiczy Poland is?
I have a friend in France whose mother was born in Poland. Her death record in france has the information shown below listing the city as Hanowiczy but we're unable to find that location in Poland. Does anyone where this city is? We are of course looking for her birth records and can't find anything so any help finding her or her parents in Poland would be great.

I regret to let you know that there is no Hanowiczy community in Poland or Ukraine that I could find.
Check if getting married in France Catharina Wajda gave the place of her birth or names of her parents. I noticed there is a birth record of Katarzyna Wajda born in Niesluchowo, Dubiecko Parish, Podkarpackie region, near Ukraine, but it is not Hanowiczy and the date is 3rd April 1915. She is daughter of Kazimierz and Wiktoria Zajac. You may check it in Geneszukacz.genealodzy.pl - podkarpackie, click on British flag to get headings in English.

Thank you for your help. I went to the Geneszukacz.genealodzy.pl site and found the record for the person you mentioned. However, I didn't see a birth date there. How did you find the birth date? Any tips on using the site? Do you have to search each area individually for Katarzyna
I asked Chatgpt about the city Hanowiczy and it suggested that Hanowiczy wasn't a city but a family name instead. What do you think?

Hover over "i" on the right-hand side and you will read Page 368, Scan No. 199, Data Urodzenia = date of birth 03.04.1915, you may click on the Scan and in szukajwarchiwach you will need to scroll to Scan No. 199.
I have just done it for the first time and discovered on this record at the bottom of page on the left, the date of birth and cross with the date of death 30/9/1928 which means this Catharina died in year 1928. Let's hope there will be more indexed records in geneszukacz.genealodzy.pl in near future and hopefully some information about your Catharina Wajda will show up.

There are some Wajdas from "Hanowce, Galicia" (but ofcourse the name Wajda was not uncommon) and on ancestry there is one case where the town seems to be misspelled as "Hanowice".
Maybe there would be a possibility for your friend to find out via DNA whether there are connections to that place?
