Please translate birth record for Rudolf Pesina. PS71-3P9 I have found 2 Rudolf Pesinas with the same parents. One was born in 1850 and the second was born in 1862 . His birth record (1862) shows he died a few months later. Do the dates on Rudolf PS71-3P9 shed light on whether he died as a child also? I wonder why they would have named another child Rudolf if the first Rudolf born in 1850 was still alive

    You are right, this is a very unusual situation. Same names within the same family are common, but only when the first child dies. I only encountered the same names in parallel if they are distinguished by their middle name (Anna Marie vs. Anna Kateřina).

    I would check the church book of the deceased to see whether the second child died really at that time.

    Next time, please put hyperlinks to online scans. These copies are hard to read.
