Sweden - Trying to follow Brita Lisa Andersdotter back to her birth
Brita Lisa Andersdotter married Johannes Samuelsson 28 March 1820 in Vadstena, Östergötland. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0019504_00023
Anna Cajsa was born to them 22 May 1820 in Vadstena. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0019504_00206
I am struggling to find the household record in Vadstena. I am hoping it will give me more information on Brita Lisa Andersdotter so I can follow her back to her birth.

Using the Arkivdigital index, I found some things, but not what we want. Johannes Samuelsson was born 5 may 1795 in Motala (one record is indexed 5 august 1795). Multiple household examinations show Brita Andersdotter, Brita L Andersdotter, or Brita Lisa Andersdotter, always born 1793 in Fivelstad. They also had a son, Carl Johan, born 9 mar 1824 in Motala.
I looked at the births in Fivelstad for 1793 (and years surrounding) and didn't find a Brita Lisa Andersdotter born there. There is a Brita Stina Andersdotter born in January but she is somebody else, married somebody else, etc. There is a Brita born in March but she is not an Andersdotter.
Brita Lisa Andersdotter died 7 apr 1865 in Motala, she was a widow at that time. So either her birth is recorded somewhere other than Fivelstad, or the date (which is consistent but year only) is wrong, or something. I am not an expert but that's what I found. Hopefully that might help someone find more.

@lindastowemiller I do have all of those records and they have lead me to ask the same questions. The one thing that I do not have is the actual death date of Johannes. The household record the shows his death makes it seems like he died about 1858 but before 1861 since he is not shown on the record where Brita Lisa is shown dying. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0017076_00015

I found the following entry in Sveriges Dödbok:
Name and place of birth match, date of birth is given as 4 Oct 1792, date of death as 7 Jan 1865.
However, I couldn't find a corresponding birth record in Fivelstad.

@Ulrich Neitzel Interesting. I started search the surrounding parishes but I haven't been able to find anything.

I guess the date of birth is just calculated from the death record and the age given there (72 yr, 3 mo, 3 d), so a primary source is still missing.

@Ulrich Neitzel The first time I saw her death record to seemed to me that those are ? marks not 3's since all the other 3's are very clear.
Do you have any idea where they were living in Vastenda? The marriage record looks like Hospitals Ladågard and the birth record does not seem to say a place but there is a note fadrarne ike *gifre. I am really not sure on this on.
This is the first record I have that they are mentioned on. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0017052_00199
This is the second record has a note for Johannes. I do not know what the note says. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0017054_00020

The location in the marriage record is Hospitals ladugård, which means Hospital's barn. Vadstena had one of the earliest hospitals in Sweden (later used as a mental hospital). Johannes may have been a farm laborer or cowherd in the agricultural operations of the hospital. https://www.upplevvadstena.se/en/hospital.htm
The note in the birth record for Anna Cajsa is faddrarne icke upgifne = godparents not named.
In the first household record Löfvingsborg (Lövingsborg) is the place they moved to.
The note in the second household record reads: Säger sig lemnadt besked till Hr Pastor Erlandt = Says he left a message for Mr Pastor Erlandt. Not clear to me what this refers to. Note that the (crossed-out) name of the place above Johannes Samuelsson's name is Torpet Löfvingsborg.

@Ulrich Neitzel Thank you for the historical reading on the hospital. I enjoyed learning more about this area.
It sounds like the only way I am going to be able to find them is to go page by page.
It has been a while since I worked with this family. I can see that I am missing records for Johannes. I think this record shows him moving out in 1816. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0017051_00013
I was trying to find a place on the wiki that matched but I didn't see any thing. Do you know where this place is?

Do you mean this note: 1816 Tr. til G. Kanal ? It is a bit ambiguous because of the abbreviations. G. Kanal can mean Göta Kanal which is part of the water way between the Baltic Sea and West coast of Sweden. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6ta_Canal . I don't know what Tr. stands for.

@Ulrich Neitzel That is the note I was looking at. I guess that is why I was not able to complete information on Johannes and Brita Lisa years ago because the details are vague. Hopefully something will open up in Vadstena when I go through the books. Thanks for your help.

@Ulrich Neitzel Yesterday I found this record - https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0019482_00037
Entry 5 shows Johan Samuelsson and the birth information matches. When I translated the note it appears to say he was not married or engaged. Is that correct?
Entry 9 shows a Brita Andersdotter of Fivelstad with no birth day information. It appears that she moved into the this parish in 1813 from Hogby. What makes the most sense is Högby, Östergötland but I have not found her there yet.
Johan moves to Motala in 1820 which fits with the information I have. Brita is crossed out like she moved but the person below is her is also crossed out and shown as moving to Motala in 1820. It is possible that this is an error. It could be that Brita was the one who moved to Motala.
I didn't see their child on this record and it may mean I need to finish looking through this book and see if there is more to find. Can you think of any other records that I need to look at to see if I can make a connection to Brita and her birth information?

You are right: the note for Johan Samuelsson says that he is neither married nor engaged. It seems strange, however, that his marriage, which took place in the same parish (Vadstena) in March 1820, is not noted here.
Re: Brita Andersdotter: Did you notice that there is another Brita Lisa Andersdotter, born 1787 in Fivelstad, on the same page (5th entry from bottom)? I found the birth record for a Lisa Andersdotter on 10 Apr 1787 in Fivelstad ( https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0015571_00250 ), but no Brita Lisa.
This Brita (Lisa) Andersdotter is still quite a mystery to me.

@Ulrich Neitzel I didn't catch that. Where do you think Lisa's birth farm is? It looks like *gård ägor. The book is not is great shape.

I read: Källgårds ägor. There are two Källgården close to Fivelstad Kyrka:

@Ulrich Neitzel ok. I hope to get the center today where I can use a desktop instead of my laptop so I can read the book better.

@Ulrich Neitzel The center closes early today so I did quick search but didn't find the farm. I will have to look closer next week.

@Ulrich Neitzel I did not find the family in the Fivelstad book. I think it is time to move on. Maybe when I come back again in another 10 years something will come up that will make the connection I need.
