GEDCOM Importing
My ancestry is spread across several different trees on Ancesty including lots of documentation. I don't want to waste time moving all of them over with GEDCOM. I was planning to manually input data starting with a few lines. Now that I see all the problems that people are having with GEDCOM I am losing interest in all of it. Which is sad because I was really glad that you were finally allowing me to input my documented research that I could control myself.

@Beth Wilson_10 there will in the near future be a way to build a CET from scratch (in house, if you will) without the need of a previously generated GEDCOM. This is all still in testing, and once it becomes available to everyone (not just approved testers) you'll be able to choose between uploading a gedcom or beginning a private tree from within FamilySearch itself. We're just working out the kinks. It's not a finished product right now which is why you're seeing feedback of various issues from us testers. Fear not! This too shall pass.

It's also worth noting that during this temporary testing period, in preparation of a public-wide release of CET trees, most of us aren't really working on building a perfect tree yet. We're testing, because we're testers. We're finding what's wrong right now, what still needs fixed, so that we can expedite getting it fixed and good and ready for public release. We're uploading gedcom files and deleting and re-uploading, uploading small files, big files, multiple files, to see if it's working well or not, and what specific errors need addressed by the FS product team.

@Beth Wilson_10 thank you for testing early access CET. As @J Purkaple correctly pointed out, CET is in early access, which means it is still being tested. At this point, only a limited number of users have been allowed access to test CET. To this end, all feedback is very important to the engineering team, sto enable improvements that will ultimately assist users. Additional features are forthcoming and the engineering team does review all comments in this group. Thank you, again.
