Upload of gedcom (about 53 people, trial run) went smoothly, no upload error.

As mentioned on another post earlier today, all 3 of the file's living people (I one of them) were uploaded as deceased individuals and therefore public until I manually changed each to living.

(Less related, but I went to change an Ancestry location on an event/fact to FS standard location, and it popped up with "Illinois, United States" and under that the subtitle "State, 1809-Present" which american history majors will confirm for you is not correct at all…)

All events/facts had Ancestry locations and need manually changed to FS standardized locations as well as standardized dates. This is inconvenient but I don't know a good way to streamline this without causing other kinds of problems.

Ancestry events/facts don't just have date and location, but also description/notes. It seems these were not carried into CET from Ancestry at all. One example was my ancestor Jonathan McLain (Johnathan McClane) who died in one of 2 counties in Illinois in the 1830s. The location on his death (just Illinois) carried over correctly, but the description on that death event from Ancestry (mentioning the 2 county possibilities & giving an approximate span of years) is nowhere to be found in the CET upload. Many people in my main personal Ancestry tree (over 8100 people) have at least one fact with notes in the description, which is a big problem going forward if those don't carry over into CET uploads.

Actually it seems this is what happens to Ancestry fact notes. Not liking it, but better than disappearing entirely. I will need to move these over to the actual events they pertain to.

J, The living person imported as deceased is a serious bug that recently crept into the code. Engineering is working to resolve that as quickly as possible.

J, One of the places that these event notes could be placed is in the "Reason this is correct" field under each event. However, I'm guess these notes aren't really what one would call reason statements. I'm interested in where you will be moving them to, or where you would like them. Thoughts.

I think for the time being I'll put them in the "reason" space, but I think I'd like if FS events had 2 spaces, one for reasoning as to accuracy & one for other notes.

    Thanks J,
I will discuss this with out other product managers and UX designers. Such a change makes sense, but because it would require a DB schema and UX change, it might take some time it is tests well.

@J Purkaple As always, thank you for testing early access CET and offering feedback and notification of bugs. New features and known issues will be posted in the announcement section of this group. Again, thank you.
