The birth record I'm looking at is Bereta's, in the center - I've included the entries above and below in case a larger handwriting sample is helpful. I understand the format enough to know it should say something like "Father (occupation) Johan Cimmerlund. Mother…[—-]" That last word is what I'm most interested in, because it doesn't look like a name to me but I just can't make it out.

I'll include the link to the image below as well, in case the resolution is better on the original.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

    @McKelle

    I read the test as follows:

    Fadren Smeden Johan Cimmerlund. Modren ___<blank> ___ Bars til dopet av ___ <blank> ____

    Translation:

    Father blacksmith Johan Cimmerlund. Mother ___<blank> ___ Carried to the Baptism by ___ <blank> ___

    It seems that the scribe did not know the names of the mother and the godparent when recording.

    Thank you so much! That confirms a couple of things for me.
