When you talk about social history, do you mean as in what did they do and how did they do it, or what did they do for fun? Or do you mean family history on your great grandparents? If the latter then give us your great grand parents names, date of birth or close to it, where born if possible, date of death if known, spouses if known, etc and we can see what can be located together. There are many, many books on the Welsh miners on Google, and Amazon for a fee. .

Good morning Researching your family tree is what FamilySearch is all about and it is designed for easy access and searching the billions of names out there.

I did a quick look this morning and found this on the Parry line and maybe a bit about the death of Evan at page in FamilySearch which takes you to an English site requiring you to sign up, however it may lead to very useful information. A little info to get you started on daughter Maria You will have to sift through the ton of information on the Barry family in Lanferres, that is the best part of looking for your family history. Hope some of this helps. Here a re few suggestions on how to get started in your FamilySearch…. You may also find help in other programs like Ancestry.com or many many others that can be found here Resources

If you need help in trying to figure out which one of the many relatives you are looking at please feel free to respond back to this community.

@wendyparry1 A quick Google search for the lead miners of Llanferres, Wales turned up a few interesting articles.

This article talks about the parish of Llanferres and where you can find some of its registers: https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/DEN/Llanferres

This article has some pictures of the church in Llanferres: https://www.mythslegendsodditiesnorth-east-wales.co.uk/llanferres

This article is more about the structure of an engine house on the property of the mine, but does have a little information of genealogical interest: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/267759247_Aberduna_Engine_House_Llanferres_Denbighshire_Wales

This article shows the location of the mine on a map and gives a little of its history: https://www.mindat.org/loc-185352.html

Hopefully these can show you a little of what life may have been like for your ancestor.
