John Kay, KNDZ-MSY — Are these quality reviews computer generated? All of the sources, as well as the documents posted in the "Memory" section, should be reviewed before quality determinations are made. A comment was made about distance. The census records and the documents clearly show the distance is not an issue. With respect to the birth dates of children, the family bible births page is attached in the Memories section.

The Data Quality Score is generated by a computer algorithm. For more than a year, the engineers have been taking on feedback from testers and tweaking the algorithm to give better feedback to users. In the Announcements section at the top of the Group, you'll see posts about updates to the algorithm, reported issues, and requests from users.

Thank you. With respect to residence locations and marriage locations - cities/towns are not always applicable. Some reside in the country and are married in country churches.

There have been many such discussions. I'm just a user, like you.

The Memories section has no effect on the Data Quality Score. So if you have documents that support vitals, such as a birth date, then you need to turn them into sources and tag them to the vital events. See instructions for adding a memory source.

I do love this part of Family Search. My only issue is for an obituary, you always see a conflict because it says 'The death happened before a residence.' I hate that it does this because it is not a residence, it is where the obituary was published, which could be valuable information but I hate having conflicts that cause the quality to be low.

@CarrieMcCoy4 , since it really is not a residence, probably the best solution is to create a custom event titled Obituary and move the information there. That would be more accurate and would resolve the quality flag.
