Where is Haraldstorp? How can I find it in church records?

Erik Olofsson 9KP7-K9V moved from Bolstad, Älvsborg in 1859 to Haraldstorp. This fact is mention on the household examination record and move out record that are tagged with his residence in Haraldstorp. There is more than one Haraldstorp listed in standardized places. How do I determine with places are more realistic? I would love to learn how to use a good gazetteer that lists farm names. FamilySearch places only lists current counties.

I'm going to help you out with this one since it was pretty hard to find the location!

Birth record, Bolstad C:1 page 356, there is only 1 erik that is named Olofsson/Olsson

Bolstad Al:15 page 37 in Glysbyn, moved to page 202 in 1856
Bolstad Al:15 page 202 in Borgan, with wife and daughter, wife and daugter died here, Erik moved to page 192 in 1858

Haraldstorp is located in Gestad, can't find anything in Bolstad so checking Gestad parish

Gestad Al:17 page 341 in Haraldstorp, says that the family moved in from Bolstad 1859 so this is their first record in Gestad.
They had a son named Johannes b:1860-09-14 d:1861-02-07 in Haraldstorp, Gestad, Älvsborg

Gestad Al:18 page 386 in Haraldstorp with another son, Anders b:1862-03-06 d:1951-12-30 in Bolstad, Älvsborg, widowed 1948-02-12, checking death records
Anders married Sofia Johannesdotter b:1861-12-12 in Bolstad d:1948-02-12 in Bolstad, married 1888-11-16

Gestad Al:19 in Haraldstorp page 394 moved to page 368 in 1868
Gestad Al:19 page 368 in Södra Bodane, Gestad
Gestad Al:20 page 397 in Södra Bodane, moved to page 439 1871-11-13

So how did I find out where Haraldstorp was?
In the wedding book in Bolstad E:2 you'll see that you can choose from 4 different parish, Bolstad, Erikstad, Gestad and Grinstad. Since marriage often happend where the bride lived I checked the index in Gestad when Erik moved to Haraldstorp eg, Gestad Al:17 page 9, there you have Haraldstorp. With this information you can find Erik's second wife Anna Andersdotter in Grinstad Al:13 page 224. I haven't found her birth record in any of the 4 parishes. This is the first record I've found with her and her parents

As for their surviving son, Anders Eriksson and Sofia Johannesdotter they had 9 children as far as I can tell, check Bolstad All:1 page 11 and Bolstad All:2 page 12

May I just say - I am so impressed!!! I tried using Arkivdigital and looking for where he went after his wife and daughter died; I saw the notation but couldn't find him in subsequent years at all. I suspected Haraldstorp was within a parish, probably nearby, but was stumped. Your info is amazing!!!! Well done!!!!!

I've never used arkivdigital. Riksarkivet is completly free to use and you can choose english in the uppger right corner. The link I provided is to the church records in riksarkivet. I think it's pretty easy to use since every parish has the same layout.
