Translation request Norway Sherriff's death records
Hi, we,are struggling with a few words in the death record of #85, Johan Olsen. His son in law is Lars August as you can see, but the note in the last column seems to say something about the wife being the only one and children remaining. The exact reading is critical as Lars August is married to Johan's daughter. And we can't find the mother.

The note in the remarks column reads "Lars Brynkildsens Kone er eneste barn afdøde efterlade sig." That is translated to "Lars Brynkildsen's wife is the only child the deceased left behind". I can't tell from that if she was Johan Olsen's only child, or simply the last one left.

Thanks, that is what I thought and that is very meaningful. Lars wife is the daughter of Johan. So either Johan's wife has died or she left. His wife was alive in 1875. Correct translations are the key to accurate genealogy.
