Error Loading Family Tree Person: ???????? message

When working sources through the BYU Record Linking Lab volunteer projects I am getting many sources with this message. I believe this message is from merging duplicates or deleting profiles.

Will this be corrected any time soon? I am receiving about 3 out of every 5 sources I work on.

I have tried to using the PID listed but unable to find the person. How long after a merge or deleted profile does the PID last?

    The PID remains. A profile deleted through merge can be found by searching on the PID. For example, here's a profile I merged in July.

    The surviving profile is https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LZZ9-NHN

    and the deleted (merged away) profile is https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LCDQ-66D
