I think eliminated “deceased” would be helpful. It’s rather obvious if their records are being merged and researched that they are dead. The comparing tool might be more efficient if it’s not picking up on so many reasons as to why it’s a match or not a match. For example in the Abraham Lincoln sample- same dates etc. It seems like there could be better ways of verifying if it’s the same person or not.

    Although it's certainly true that the vast majority of merges are done with deceased persons, it is indeed possible to do merges for living persons. So it's not "obvious ... that they are dead."

    I guess I don't understand how this is technically different than the "surviving persons" section that is already there. I'm not sure if this is more helpful for beginning users. I am happy to be convinced - I just don't see how it is at this point.
