Translation of Danish Christening and Burial Record in Stokkemarke Parish 1780
Anne Margarete Erichsdatter # GRYC-Z8D was born and died in 1780 in Stokkemarke Parish. On the christening record is it the 5th Sunday before or after Påske? She is the daughter of Erick Hansen. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G94W-XQVQ
On her burial record she is female #3 in 1780. Can you translate her date of burial and her age? It just says her father is Erick Hansen in Stokkemarke, but her name is not listed. It is image 416. Thank you for your help! Joellen McAlister

The christening date is the "5te Søndag efter Paascke = the 5th Sunday after Easter". That is 30 April, 1780. See Moveable Feast Day Calendar for Denmark here: . However, the christening record says the child died after being "home baptized". I am sure that this 30 April date is the date the home baptism was confirmed in the church. The mother was also "introduced" back into the church on this date. See this article on Introduction of Mothers:
As far as the burial record, I believe the date is "2den [Anden] Søn(dag i) Fast(e) = the second Sunday in Faste (20 February)". The age is "1 ug(e) = 1 week".
To help make this clearer, I think this is what happened: Anne Margrete as born about 13 February and then she was home baptised soon thereafter. She lived a week and then died before the home baptism was confirmed in the church. She was buried on 20 February and the home baptism was confirmed in the church on 30 April. Her mother was "introduced" into the church on that same date.

I see why you have a question about Anne Margrete's birth date. I probably should have said that Anne Margrete was born sometime before 13 February. She was one week old when she died, and that is not necessarily one week old when she was buried. Good catch!!

The 30th of April seems like a long time after the February date. I would have never known that. How did you come up with the 13 of February? I'm not questioning you. I'm just trying to learn!

The burial date was 20 February, so I simply subtracted 7 (1 week) from that to get 13 February.
Also, see this article in the FamilySearch Wiki about Home Christenings: . In this case, it appears that the home christening was confirmed in the church even though the child did not live.
