This is a very useful tool. But once you've assessed that a bad merge has been made, is there any easy way to undo that merge? It's always been a time consuming process in larger families. Also, is this something that people will be able to use BEFORE they make the bad merges?

Agree that the tool could be more useful before a merge is made. A couple of days ago, I had to undo another contributor's really bad merge. I hope that a Merge Analysis view before the merge would have stopped the merge of 2 men born over 40 years apart, in different states. One was very obviously born well after the mother's feasible childbearing years.

But aren't the first two of the three merge screens pretty much identical to the first two columns of the Merge Analysis view? And the third merge screen the same as the third column?

@Gordon Collett my hope (ever hopeful, I am) was that seeing it laid out AGAIN might slow someone down long enough to look at who/what they are merging.

Wonderful! I tried it out on a recent merge I noticed. It shows what information was left behind in this correct merge. I think that is terrific. I like the details it gives for both personas. Also, the list of sources, who has been added with the merge and the initial creation date of both. I am very pleased. What a great tool for those of us who struggle to untangle incorrectly merged families. Thank you.
