Too literal?

On the 1962 death certificate for Robert P Duffey, the informant did not know/remember his mother's maiden name, so Mary Caroline Burgess L8P5-FQR is listed as Mary C Unknown.

In "consistent with sources" that record is called out:

Mary C. Unknown, "Alabama Deaths, 1908-1974" has a last name of unknown, which is different from burgess.

Well, it is different, but it's not a name. Maybe the algorithm should disregard name fields with "unknown"?

Thanks.

Thank you for your feedback. This is a really good suggestion.

Regarding the "too literal?" issue, I just encountered this:

"Geo Scott, "England and Wales Census, 1881" has a first name of Geo, which is different from George."

I just clicked on "Dismiss" - my first time of doing this, so I was a bit surprised that I didn't have to provide a reason statement (as with dismissing "possible duplicate" suggestions, etc.).

@Paul W I recall a comment a few days ago (from one of the engineers, I think) about the nickname list. I would think Geo for George should be in that same category.

Edited to add - I can't find the thread now (search is non-functional), but I believe that comment related to Wm being accepted for William by the algorithm.

@Rhonda Budvarson Can we add Jos for Joseph to that list, please? L7WK-CHW

James Jos Mullin, "New Jersey, Jersey City, Holy Name Cemetery, Card Index of
Interment, 1849-1984" has a first name of James Jos, which is different
    from James Joseph.

And, his baptism, in Latin, is also called out as different:

Jacobus Joseph Mullen, "New Jersey Births and Christenings, 1660-1980" has a
first name of Jacobus Joseph, which is different from James Joseph.

    Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback. Jos has been added for Joseph, and also Thos for Thomas.

    @Rhonda Budvarson

Many thanks for arranging for these to be added as alternate names to the full ones.
