Hello,

Could someone assist me in reading the names of the parents in the wedding record of Wenzl Zmattlík:

Planá (TC) 22 | Porta fontium

I see Josef Zmattlík, Marie ?, Anton Antmann, and Maria Stark.

Thank you and have a good day.

Sincerely,

Stephen

Interesting that the groom in this record, Václav Zmátlik, was born in Volanice (east of Prague), traveled to Planá (in the far west) at some time in early adulthood where he was married and had two children. I believe that he then moved to Prague and had additional children. It was in Prague that his son married into my family. I am tired just thinking about all the travel. Václav's father, Josef, was born in Svatoňovice, even further to the east. It was interesting to find these locations and the associated records.

Malé Svatňovice near Trutnov is the birthplace of famous Czech writer Karel Čapek.

This place is known also for coal mines. This attracted many unemployed people to relocate there. I briefly scanned Plana's history and there were also some mines. If these offered better payment conditions, this could be the reason for such long-distance movement.
