How to report an incorrect county in a Family Search record?

Hi,

I noticed when looking at several records that the Family Search index has the records incorrectly classified as being from Clogher parish in county Mayo rather than from Clogher parish in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. How do I report an incorrectly indexed record, please?

Thanks!

@N Tychonievich I've seen many of these in my Irish research - all placename standardization issues.

It was mentioned many times over the past 2 years, for instance Ballymoney county antrim, is listed as Ballymoney county wicklow. Pages and pages of records, all incorrect. There were a number of requests to change this to no avail. I think the scale of a number of records set against the 13 billion is it, that familysearch hold, makes it at present, not viable. The best solution arrived at is, if you are using say government birth record as a source, is to put a discussion on the comments section for an individual , explaining the discrepancy.

Personallyi would love to have corrected the records but........

@Hayter David There was a badly written automation that corrupted a large number of records. N Tychonievich has taken on the task of reporting those problems to a small team that is making the corrections.
