Dead end finding the parents of my 2nd great grandpa. Please help!

I'm looking for the parent's of my great-great grandpa, Anthony Roberts. It's a dead end for finding his parents, siblings, or uncles and aunts. I've spent countless hours looking and have found plenty of sources for his life in Oregon (spouses & children). But he was born in Missouri and I can't seem to find anything of him there.

His member ID is: LZXJ-4G8

I'd love ANY and all feedback or advice! I've tried everything I can think of.

Thank you for your time and energy,

Julie

    @Julie Melissa Pettit

    Him, appeared to have another wife, according to the link I sent you.

    I would try to find information on all the people he was married to and try to find marriage records that may have parents listed

    1870 United States Federal Census

    Home in 1870 Subdivision 5, Benton, Oregon.

    I hope this can help

    Thank you for your help Michael. I really appreciate you taking the time to look into it. I knew about the other wife and unfortunately there's no mention of parents on any other documents found. I did submit a research request to the Missouri state archives. waiting to hear back from them.

    @Julie Melissa Pettit The Early Oregonians Index entry referenced by @MikeLongSr purports Anthony Roberts was born in Clay County, Missouri (now in the Kansas City metro area). There's no information about how or why that conclusion was reached and the database overview isn't much more telling. Did you try contacting the Oregon Archives Reference Desk (Reference.Archives@oregon.gov), to see if they might be able to clarify where that detail came from or who submitted it?

    Assuming the Clay Co., MO birth location is accurate and his family was still there by the 1840 census enumeration, there were 5 Roberts households with young males in Anthony's age bracket: Aaron, Arnett, David, Moses, & Obidiah. You may see if you can determine what happened to them (Did they migrate further west? Are there probate documents that mention their children, etc.?).
