Best Free Sites for Researching British Isles Records?
Hello All! I am a new member, but have been researching my family history for a few years. I have not had much luck getting solid information on my GGF who is supposedly from Jersey. I have had an Ancestry account, but it becomes $$. Any recommendations for free sites? I have used RootsChat which I have found helpful and I am wondering if there are others? Thank you!

I've had some luck with Archive.org and searching for various things via "search texts"
There are some parish registers there and some other items. I wish I had good advice on how to do it.
Try different words and/or surnames in combination with a village or parish. It's slow, but with a free account you can save the items.
If I recall, you can search the London Gazette as well. Best of luck,
