Best Practice - Shared Family Group; naming?

With the RootsTech`23 encouragement about family groups - I'm considering putting my toe into the water. It seems that there might be a better way than "Carlson Family Group" to name a group i.e., something that would be more definitive as to who might be interested in being part of the group. Has anyone developed some ideas about doing this? Such as: "J. Paskett m. C. Buckingham - branches" where the branches are the descendants of the couple. Or, is the simple fact that we invite people to join sufficient?

Unless it's changed since I set up our family group, when you establish and name the group you then send emails to those whom you invite to join. In that email you could explain the context and purpose of the group, along with the ancestral parents/couple from whom all descended. Just my thought.

There are a couple of new settings. You can add a picture for the group, and you can add rules and a description. You really can name it anything you want, these are not currently searchable, the people you send invitations to are the only people who see the group, so if you wanted to call it Sunshine, it wouldn't matter. That said, I have one on the "LoForte side of the family," "Price 1st Ward Youth Baptisms" and one for all the missionaries in my mission to share memories, check relationships and share temple ordinances that is just named for my mission. Figure out something fun!

@AnneLoForteWillson --That wouldn't happen to be the Price, Utah 1st Ward would it? I was born and raised in Castle Dale, so I'm naturally curious if that's where you're located.

Funny you should ask! Yup, Price Utah. So cool to meet other (previous) residents!

@AnneLoForteWillson --I miss that area and the people. Was back last July for my mother's funeral. She used to work in the Price Family History Library until her eyesight limited her ability. Still have family in the Castle Dale/Huntington area as well.
