I am having trouble with the description words preceding the names in this 1774 Examination record from Alingsås parish. They are abbreviations and I have been unable to find a good reference for them.

I can work out the names and I believe it is wife for numbers 2 (Brita) and 5 (Anna) and daughter for number 4 (Maria). The word for Lars Buss seems to be Lgnf ? and for numbers 3, 6 and 7 ??

Can anyone help? Also, is there a good reference for the many different options for these descriptive entries ? Just when I think I am catching on I find new ones I haven't encountered.

I believe the abbreviation in front of Lars Buss name is "Ges(äll) = journeyman".

The letter in front of Anders Nordblom looks like "M" which possibly stands for something like "Man" or "Mister" or "Monsieur"-almost all the male heads-of-house have "M" unless they have another descriptor.

Brita Ericsdoter and Ann Christina Roos are "hustru = wife"

Maria and Brita Christ. Nordblom are "dr. and doter = daughter".

The last one, Greta Arenberg is, I believe, "Flick(a) = girl". She is probably not a relative, but just helping around the house or living with the family for some reason.

As far as trying to figure out the entries, I usually just look at other pages in the book to see if the word is written out more fully somewhere.

Thank you so very much. These all fit and make sense. I will add these forms to my list for future reference. Reading these are a challenge.
