Can anyone help read this record? I am wondering who is the father of Kathrine Cecilie Poulsen. I see that the mother was unmarried and her name is Ane Kirstine Poulsen, but I am not sure if the father is Carl Sorensen or Lars Peder Sorensen.

Any help is appreciated.

Name: Katrine Cecilie Poulsen [as the parents weren't married the child received the mothers surname]

Mother: Ugift Tjenestepige Ane Kirstine Poulsen, 20 Aar, af Ramten Udlodder, Ørum Sogn (hjemme hos Forældrene, Jens Poulsen og hustru) og udlagt Barnefader Ungkarl, Tjenestekarl Carl Sørensen af Mogenstrup, Nimtofte Sogn (hos Anders Hermann).

Baptism: 9. Juli 1893 (Sognepræsten Ravn foretog Daaben i Kirken).

Senere er udlagt som Barnefader, Ungkarl Lars Peter Sørensen, tiene i Nimtofte (hos F. Thorkildsen).

    -------------

The Mother: Unmarried servant girl Ane Kirstine Poulsen, 20 years old, of Ramten Udlodder in Ørum Parish (home with her parents, Jens Poulsen and wife) and named the father of the child as, bachelor and male servant Carl Sørensen in Mogenstrup, Nimtofte Sogn (working for Anders Hermann).

The parish-priest Ravn did the baptism in the church.

Later named as father of the child, bachelor Lars Peter Sørensen, serving in Nimtofte (working for F. Thorkildsen).

    ---------------

So she named first one man as the father of the child and later another man......(interestingly both with the same surname).

So whether any of these men are the biological father is up for anyones guess; but the first man could have challenge her and ended up proving he couldn't be the father and then she named another man instead.

Can't see from this excerpt if this was challenge as well (but it could have ended with a legal case where she either won or lost).

Carl Sørensen (the first named father of the child) could be this one.

    Carl Christian Sørensen.

Son af Peder Sørensen. Born in Gjesing Sogn 7/5 1871.

Both Ane Kirstine Poulsen and Lars Peter Sørensen had been working for "F. Thorkildsen in Nimtofte".

Must be the farmer Adolph Christen Frederik Thorkilsen.

Here in Census 1890, neither if them is working for him yet.

No solid lead on Lars Peter Sørensen, yet.

    It could be this guy:

Lars Peter Bengt Sørensen, male servant in Nimtofte (Born in Stenmagle Sogn on Sjælland, 8. Juli 1872) is married in Nimtofte church 2. November 1893 to Mette Kirstine Mogensen.

So married to another woman less than half a year after he (perhaps if it is him) was named as the father!

Thank you for your help. I thought that two fathers were listed, but was not sure. You insights are truly helpful and I appreciate you taking extra time to do some background research on the two possible fathers.
