Seeking Grandfather

Hello,

Through "hints" I found that my grandparents are not my biological grandparents, but are my great Aunt and Uncle. I do not think my mother knew that she was actually the daughter of her Aunt.

The birth record doesn't mention the father. I have taken a DNA test and loaded the raw file on several sites. I have lots of matches that are distant cousins, but they almost always are related to my father's side of the family.

The 2 that I found for my mother's side. I know how I am related to them, it is through my mother's known grandparents.

I can't talk my brothers into taking a DNA test to easily eliminate all my father's relatives. And there are no male progeny from them either.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance,

Patricia

AncestryDNA now has a feature that separates Maternal and Paternal matches (plus some Unassigned). It is a quick way to narrow your matches to your maternal side.

@Smith-Rossman I'm sure you've already tried this, but can you get any clues at all from members of your great aunt and uncle's family?
