I have a death record for Nils Adamsson on 28 May 1796 in Motala. I am assuming he was born in this parish but I can not read the records. Please help me find him.

His death record states he was 69 year old when he died. Also I would like a translation of his death record. It seems to be talking about his military record.

This would put his birth about 1727 but the household record I have found says he was born in 1722.

    I looked through the birth records from 1719 to 1730 in Motala and did not find a Nils whose father was Adam, so I think it is safe to say that he was not born in Motala. For the death record I am going to tag @Ulrich Neitzel for the translation. This is beyond my Swedish abilities!😎

    @Haux

    Here is what I read in the death record:

    Gift. Rusth. Nils Adamsson i Börkö, hade under Lifstiden öppen ros i benen, hvaraf Han besvärades Sjelf och andra, frisk i lifvet derjämte, då denna Rosagtighet upsteg, dog han, begr. d. 2. Jun. - 69 år

    Translation:

    Married "Rusthållare" Nils Adamsson in Börkö had an erythema in the legs during his lifetime, which bothered himself and others, fit in life just the same, when this erythema increased he died, buried on 2 June. - 69 years

    A "Rusthållare" was a farmer whose tax liability was replaced by an obligation to keep a mounted soldier for the cavalry.

    @Ulrich Neitzel @Norm Baker

    Thank you so much for the translation. Hopefully I will be able to find his military record.
