the birth record shows he was born out of wedlock but it looks like there is a father listed on the birth record. Is that the case?

    @Haux

    The link does not work for me and the page with source identifier "Rytterne C I a/3 image 129" in SVAR does not contain a Johan Gustaf. Can you please specify the birthday and full name of Carl Gustaf?

    @Haux

    saw the birthday now 😎 .. and found the record. (It's page 132 in SVAR)

    There is no father given. The entry in the parents' column is:

    Pigan vid Stora Ekeby Greta Andersdotter nu hos Eric Andersson på Horns Egor. 22 år

    Translation: The maid at Stora Ekeby Greta Andersdotter now with Eric Andersson at Horns farm. 22 years old

    So Eric Andersson seems to be his (new) employer.

    @Ulrich Neitzel

    I wonder if this is the same Eric Andersson that is listed with his wife as a witness. I tried to find them yesterday but I didn't see them.

    This seems to be the case.

    I found Eric Andersson Björk and Stina Olsdotter in Husförhörslängder Stora Rytterne A I a/7 image 92/page 80 (https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0020117_00092#?c=&m=&s=&cv=91&xywh=-41%2C210%2C3282%2C2078); both were widow/widower and remarried 31/12 1814.

    I did not find Greta Andersdotter on that page though.

    @Ulrich Neitzel

    That does seem to be them. Maybe she just stayed with them for a time but never really move there.
