This record is for a soldier.

Generalmönsterrullor--Södra-Skånska-Infanteriregementet-L,-M-667-1875-1878-Image-362, Jonas Lind.jpg

The soldier, Jonas Lind, went to America in 1876. This record covers the time period 1875-1878. What does the word in the "remarks" mean? I assume it as something to do with being missing?

Thank you for help

I believe the word is "approberas" which simply means "approved". The record doesn't say what he was approved for. See this page in Hans Högman's website about Swedish military records: http://hhogman.se/GMR_noteringar-3.htm#xl_Godkand. Do a "Control F" search for approberas and you will see an image with a similar notation. There is a transcription and a translation of the text under the image.

Thanks! I think you are correct about "approberas" and "approved." It was helpful for to look at the examples on the Hans Högman's website. Maybe his leave was "approved?" He never made it back to Sweden. He just kind of disappears. The family has a death date of 1887, but he is not buried in the family plot. His parish in Sweden kept him on the missing people list until 1919. Such a mystery. Thanks for the insight.
