Good morning. Is anyone able to make out what is written above Josephina Nilsdotter and her half sister Anna Maria? Thank you!

    Hello @ELinford

the words above Josephina Nilsdotter are:

Hennes dotter i ett föregående äktenskap = Her daughter from a previous marriage

the words above Anna Maria are:

Dott. ofvan__? makars = daughter of above named couple

Thank you @Ulrich Neitzel . I am curious. Anna Maria's mother's name on her birth record is listed as her sisters name (Josephina Nilsdotter). Do you think that was an error?

    Hello @ELinford

It is difficult for me to comment on the birth record without seeing it. However, from the household examination above I see that there is an age difference forJosephina (born 1863) and Anna Maria (born 1875) of only 12 years which makes a mother-daughter relation extremely unlikely. Also, the remarks for the twin sons Karl Teodor and Karl Ludwik are 2dra b[arn] i 2dra giftet and 3die b[arn] i 2dra giftet (second/third child in the second marriage), respectively, which indicates that Anna Maria was the first child in the second marriage of Ingrid Maria Månsdotter with Carl Ludvig Brundin. (It is noted that Ingrid Maria was widow since 1870.)
