My paternal great grandmother came from the Netherlands. I just found out that my maternal family crossed the pond from Belgium and this is where I need help reading documents. I appreciate any help you lend. I work full time so will only be active sporadically.

Thank you for the welcome! Sue Bell

Please see the attached original records. On shows indexed age at death 82 and the other 28. Both have the same day and place, just different years. Can someone clarify which is correct.

    Hi Sue,

The records you attached are not Dutch, they are in German language and about a place in Germany called Techau.

That said, though I am Dutch I can decipher the German a bit and think what you read as 28 years actually is 88, so Dorothea was born 1784.

Looks like she married 1806 to Asmus Hinrich Schütt who died 1815-09-24. They had a son, Hinrich Friedrich, born 1816-01-08.

And then there is a daughter (unknown father I guess), Anna Catharina Dorothea Henrica, born 1819-07-18, who married a man with surname Schmüser. They had three daughters, 1851, 1854, 1857. She died 1859.
