Two families grouped together in Minnesota 1950 Census
I was looking at the Census record for my grandmother and her family and they were grouped with another family. Is there a away to fix this? I have looked all over the website and have not found an answer.

@SMackenthun, at the moment, since they are published, we don't have a way to separate them, but the good news is that engineers are working to be able to accomplish this. Thank you.

@SMackenthun, would you mind giving me the URL for the census page and name of your family and the family they are grouped with so I can look at it, please?
Thank you so much for letting us know. I'll be waiting for your information.

I sometimes find this problem when I am indexing. When I see it, I separate it into two separate households. The problem is the system thinks there is only a certain number of households on the page. Then it doesn't allow me to index the last family because it thinks I finished the page. This just happened on a page with Massachusetts, Middlesex, Bellerea, Nutting Lake, 9-134. I should have gotten the page. Next time, I will try to save the url of the page. It seems the only way to get the whole page indexed is to index 2 separate households as if they were the same household.

@kathyrd, I understand that the system is putting two households into the same household. Just make sure that you do separate the households by unchecking the added household. Then continue to review the correct and verified household which is checked. This is one of our jobs as reviewers is to make sure the families are grouped together correctly. Don't worry about the system not sending you to the next household. Another person reviewing will pick this household up. I know it is frustrating, but please keep the households separate.
We appreciate your dedication and concern in reviewing the records to make them correct. Thank you!

I also ran into to this issue and what I did was use the Report a Problem and selected this household can’t be grouped together. I then removed the members of the second household and continued reviewing the page. Should I continue to report it as a problem?

@LauraBelle13, perfect. Please do report if you run into the issue again. You are both doing great! Keep up the great work!
