1950 Census - "Review Families"
Review Families has entirely too many fields. There is no need to transcribe all of the fields because they will be available from the actual census page once a name is found in a search. In my opinion it would be much easier to have a grid with the columns that are on "Review Names" plus columns for the age and birthplace. The grid should have enough rows for an entire sheet. It would be so much easier and faster to work on a "grid" for each sheet and then be able to submit the entire sheet after you've checked it to make sure it is accurate.

It appears FS Tech Support needs a multitude of likes before taking action.

So sorry for your frustration in reviewing these computerized records. Ancestry developed the program, so it is what they have designed for the records to be reviewed. If you would like to do Feedback on the main page, please do so.

@AndLinda What is the exact location of that Feedback feature? When I go to the front page and click Feedback at the bottom, it tells me to to go to the discussion board.

@Robert Chapin_1, the Feedback is on the home page of 1950 Census for the general feedback specifically for the 1950 census. It is on the left side of the page about half-way down.
@CaptBob and @GlendaThompson and for others who read this thread, I would like to remind everyone that since we are under contractual agreement with Ancestry, we are reviewing what they have designed their program to have indexed. When our two companies are finished and it is published, it will be benefiting many more other individuals and entities who are not the typical family history researchers. I say this because we don't always know behind the scenes of the "why" we have been asked to review the information that we have been asked to. Our responsibility lies in making sure that the information is correct.
I hope that this helps to clarify and will ease the tension that many are feeling. It is not the typical indexing/reviewing project that we are used to doing and so it is understandable for the frustration. Just know that you are blessing many types of researchers.
But I might add that Feedback is always essential, so we thank you for that!
