Will Number of Records Reviewed by Counted?
I've done several hundred records for the 1950 US Census but don't find those records being counted on my Web Indexing Page. Will there be any reporting done as to the number of records done by ward/stake?

Why don't we get credit for reviewing these records?

Right now they are added to the Review Names total on the My Opportunities page

I'll have to check that out...I'm at 285 right now but can't get anything to review to see if that number goes up. I'm the Stake person who does the monthly reports and wonder if these review names numbers will be shown somewhere so our leaders will know how we are doing.

Why do the Census stats and contributors not show in my ward reports?

I did 20 and my review number went up to 305. So that works! Just need to get ward totals at the end of the month.

I asked the same question...go to "My Opportunities" and they will show up under "Review Names"

Census stats don't seem to be trackable for ward leaders. Census numbers/contributors are not appearing in the ward reports for me.

From the FAQs:
Our group (society, ward, stake, etc.) already has an indexing group, do we need a group in this new system too?
Yes, if you would like to track your work on the 1950 project together during the project, you will need to create a group in the Family Groups system. These stats will be added to the group indexing reports at some point in the future, but likely not during the project.
Will these stats be added to our indexing group reports?
Eventually, they will appear with the indexing statistics as a new type of contribution activity.
Hope this helps! Sam

Can we tell our members that they will receive indexing credit for reviewing the 1950 census reports?

If I have to create a group and invite and accept each participant I'd be dealing with as many as 735 people in our stake. I'd rather wait and see if the numbers actually show up in our existing reports. Or perhaps you have an easy solution to this?

Hello @AnnSomerville1
This knowledge article https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/indexing-and-the-1950-u-s-census
explains that the numbers will be added to our indexing statistics. At the moment the method for how the information will be recorded and displayed is still being worked on.
Isn't the 1950 US Census a wonderful opportunity to give back.

Hello @rachelannebraithwaite1
This knowledge article https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/indexing-and-the-1950-u-s-census
will be useful to you. Particularly this part
"Will the data reviewed on the 1950 census be added to a volunteer’s indexing statistics?
Yes. Those numbers will be added to a volunteer’s indexing statistics. The exact method for how this information will be recorded and displayed is being worked on, and volunteers will be updated on what to expect as the 1950 census release date approaches."
kind regards

I can understand, it's a lot of people to try to have join a group. Eventually, the plan is to add these stats to the regular ward and stake reports. But this will likely not happen until after the project is complete.

Thank you, first of all, to those answering these questions.
I created several "family groups" as suggested for Census Review. When I open the group, I see a Group Stats button. That button sends me back to the 1950 Census page.
Is this a link that will soon have another landing spot, such as actual group stats, lol?
Thank you for your time, and we know that you're trying to help everyone. We appreciate you!

Stats will also be added to the 1950 page itself soon!

Thank you so much for your speedy response! I'll refer our volunteers to the link.

I am indexing the 1950 census. Will I get credit for the names I do in the census in FamilySearch.org. That way I can help my Ward and Stake in names done for the month. At present the total names I do don't show up in FamilySearch.org in the total names done.

Yes, it is coming soon and will show there when it comes.... Thank you! :)

How can we see any group tracking or group stats for groups created to help Review Names for the 1950 U.S. Census? Clicking "Group Stats" in my group takes me to the generic census page... ?

I am a stake indexing director. I considered inviting all stake indexers to join a Group on FamilySearch. Then I realized that they could Message everyone in the group. I don't think that would be a good idea. I think I will just wait for Review numbers to be added to Indexing Reports in the future.
I would enjoy a feature that allows individual indexers to respond to a Message I send to our stake indexers. I'm not sure anyone would, but maybe! I created an email account for our stake indexers and that has been useful especially for those who index regularly.

Why is all the work we are doing on 1950 census not included in our indexing stats? I've done names, full pages, etc., nothing has been added to our indexing stats. Why?

The stats aren't quite ready yet, but they will show on the page below your personal stats when they are available! They are working on getting the full project up and then will add the stats.

I notice that 1950 U.S. Census records I'm reviewing are being counted under "My Opportunities" but are no longer showing up under "Your Contributions by State" underneath the map. This has been going on for 4-5 days if not longer.
Meanwhile our monthly report for April to stake and ward leaders is not looking good on the surface because the Census is being counted elsewhere. Really hopeful that we'll be able to report these numbers later on.

It has been over a month now, and no stats are being added to our ward and stake totals.
Since they keep track of how many records we are doing, it would be helpful to add this
as soon as possible. If you can get a machine to index names, surely you can figure out how
to add the statistics!😀

my 1950 Census count is wrong. What am I doing wrong??????

To all of you in this thread, the engineers are aware of the issue and are in the process of correcting it. Hopefully they will have a fix soon! Thank you all for your patience with your frustrations!

It's too bad there are still no stake/ward totals being reported for the 1950 Census. As the Stake Family History Consultant for Indexing my monthly reports look like indexing has taken a "nose dive" because the current numbers only include activity from the regular indexing system, and don't include the 1950 census yet. I keep trying to explain to our leaders that the numbers aren't indicative of what's really going on...unfortunately we really don't know what's going on. When, and if, the 1950 Census numbers are published, will they include the names of those who took part, the ward totals, and the stake totals? Will they be broken down into the categories of how many names, families, and headers were done? Will they all be lumped into one month? Is anyone actually working on this? Is there a target date? Thanks for providing an update.

@Gerald S. Millward, so very sorry for your frustration. As stated above: "The plan is to add these stats to the regular ward and stake reports. But this will likely not happen until after the project is complete." I hope that this helps somewhat. If I receive a more definitive answer, I will post it here. Thank you.
