I have a relative, Lt. Andrew O'Dell who is my 2nd cousin 6x removed. I have been working on his line. His wife is Mariamner Millard GSBN-8RM. I noticed Family Search added a Mariammia Millard MW5K-SBR and it created a duplicate. I noticed that there are no sources for this person. She does have a different name spelling and birth date. I tried to verify that the Mariammia Family Search added was not a duplicate to my Mariamner, but with no sources listed I could not find the evidence I needed to determine if it was a duplicate or the same person with some slight differences. Anyone have ideas of how to resolve this?

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

    As, I "Related" ...

    Regarding Mariammia MILLARD ( MW5K-SBR ) ...

    'FamilySearch', DID NOT, add/create that individual/person ...

Another User/Patron, added/created that individual/person, from the predecessor, to "Family Tree" ...

[ Being: "New.FamilySearch"; or, maybe, even prior to that ... ]

DO NOT worry, about MINOR discrepancies/differences, in Spellings of "Names" (Especially, 'Given' Names) ...

Plus, DO NOT worry, if NO "Sources", are attached, to OLD records ...

    Looking at both, the Mariammia MILLARD ( MW5K-SBR ); and, the Mariamner MILLARD ( GSBN-8RM ) ...

I am certain, that they are one and the same person; and, SHOULD be "Merged"/"Combined" ...

And, in (and, when) doing so, PLEASE ensure, that Mariammia MILLARD ( MW5K-SBR ) is the "Surviving" individual/person; as, that is the Older (ie. Earlier) record (pre-2012 and "New.FamilySearch"), with Parents and Siblings; and, with the Older (ie. Earlier) "Temple Ordinances" as "Completed".

Any MINOR difference, can be addressed/fixed, later.

    Good Luck

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

    Brett

ps: I am "Related", to BOTH, Mariammia/Mariamner MILLARD; and, also to her Spouse/Husband.

Thank you for this wonderful information. That's very interesting that you are related, small world. As I look at the records attached to the Mariamner GSBN-8RM it shows her name spelled Maryamne and Mariamne. It is one of those rare and odd names and I know we cannot always trust the census takers to get this right, but it is a bit confusing. Would you be willing to do the merge? I certainly want it to be done correctly and it sounds like you are a much more experienced user/patron. I think this would be appropriate since you are related if this is okay with you. Thank you!

I am only to willing, to do the "Merge"/"Combine".

    Consider it done.

I will send you a ("Private") 'Message' when it is completed.

Thank you. I also added 2 alternate spellings of her name listed in the 1860 and 1880 Census records. I truly appreciate your assistance. Best Blessings!
