I would like to find out who the father/parents were for this Mariana Dobssová? I know that she died in 1844, but I would like to find out the month and day of her death. Also, does it say that she was 10 years old at the time of her death? I know that these records are for the village of Neplachov in Sevetin parish and that she lived in house #17. Is there any other information about her or her family in this record?

Thank you!

    Here you go:

Mariana, born and baptized 27 January 1834, died 6 September 1844, Catholic, female, legitimate

    House #17

Father: Tomaš Dobeš or Zadešek, farmer, son of Matej Dobeš, farmer from Neplachav #17, estate of Třeboň, and Anna Zaduškova from Neplachov #17 same estate.

Mother: Kateřina, daughter of Matej Dvořak or Adama, farmer from Drahotěšice #12, estate of Třeboň, and Kateřina Blachova from Drahotěšice #4, estate of Třeboň.

It was common for families to use aliases when there were several families with the same surname in the same village to tell the different families apart. Looks like Tomaš was using his wife's surname as an alias.

Marianna died 6 September, buried 8 September; daughter [dcera] of Tomáš Dobeš, alias Zadušek, peasant farmer.

Thank you so much! What does “alias Zadušek” mean? And was she 10 years old?

Also. does it say if she was an illegitimate child?

Alias means "also known as", and no, she wasn't illegitimate: she's identified as her father's daughter. (Were you basing that on the second checkmark-thingy? As near as I can tell, those columns are catholic/protestant and married/single.)

Yes, I think the age of 10 is in years.

Thank you so much for the additional clarification. The “alias Zadušek” really has me mystified since I have spent lots of years working with the Dobeš family tree, and that name has never come up before. Since he was a peasant farmer, could that be the name of the estate that he worked on?

I think that I was able to find Marianna Dobssové's birth record in 1834. I would appreciate any help in translating her birth date and the information about her mother...assuming that it still says that her father was Tomás Dobes, the son of Matous Dobes, living at #17 in Neplachov. Thank you so much! This has been a real mystery, and I am so excited to find her birth record! I think that I can read the numbers and the words daughter, son, and Neplachov; but I can't read any of the other words. Thank you in advance for your help!
