Im reviewing a batch of inward passengers but the indexer has placed them as departing.
The batch number is Australia Albany - Inward passenger list 1875-1924 (M3KH-T4P). I just want to be reassured that I can change them to arrivals.

My apologies @MaureenE123. From your comments the other day, I thought you were an indexer/reviewer. The people who are answering questions in the Indexing Community are not only US based. Anyway, this problem could easily resolved if the trained Moderators had access to all the projects.
@Raina Cook If you are reviewing and you are certain that the indexer has erred, just delete the departure dates and re index them as arrival dates. From the other posts, I think there might be a project instruction or something in the field helps that tells you that if there is only one date to index it as a departure date. So, you will want to check that.
In the meantime, I am going to tag @PatrickCox6 and @Ontymay to see if one of them can be of assistance.

@Raina Cook @Melissa S Himes, although I live in Australia, I don't do Indexing, so I don't think I would be able to offer any help.

As I don't do Indexing my main concern in this is the confusing information that is given in the Contact Us information Help Page for those in Australia https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/contact-us
If you don't want to contact by phone or chat, the link for Contact is for this FamilySearch Community. However, for Indexing, and at least for some other topics it appears that Indexing on Community is actually Indexing USA, although I cannot see where this has been "officially" said, this is the implication I take from individual Discussions I have seen.
What are Australian Indexers supposed to do? Who are the FamilySearch Support who are supposed to give guidance in this situation? Where is the information from FAMILYSEARCH about how to contact the Department, presumably in Australia or perhaps New Zealand, who can give guidance, if there are no FS Support personnel? This problem is wider than just Indexing, it is about FS providing MEANINGFUL Contact information for those from Australia for matters which are specific to Australia.

Thanks for your help. I've decided to type it as arrivals because that how it is entitled but another problems shows up. The arrival dates, it has just got the date of arrivals and dashes in names that follow after it until I come across another date added. Am I to assume that the dashes indicates the dates are the same as the previous person.

Hi Raina, I'm not sure where this discussion is up to, but I had the same confusion re: arrival and departure dates recently. The info that I got (and after re-reading the Project Instructions) was that if there is only one date on the record then this should be used as the Departure date. I know this seems a bit strange, as it is an Inward Passenger List, but it is best to stick to the Instructions, particularly as we are new Indexers.
