Patron Batch Numbers

In the past I have located various bmd events (mainly baptisms) entered as patron batches. I have made note of the batch numbers. Unfortunately these batches seem to have been deleted.

eg. Patron Batch 7628520 included several christenings of the Jardine family in Moffat in Dumfries, Scotland, none of which seem to be digitised elsewhere. Until the actual registers have been filmed and made available WHY OH WHY do they delete the only source we have access to. I know patron batch info is notoriously unreliable and I will always override it with verified records as I can get access to them.

Frustrated researcher.😠

    Pippa

    I understand your frustration.

    If it is any help, patron submitted records still exist in the Family Tree part of FS even though not searchable via historical records using a batch number.

    @Pippa B

    Thank you for your questions and I understand the frustration that you are feeling. This may or may not be of help to you, but have you considered joining the Scotland Genealogy Research Group? One of the group leaders there JB Purdie may be able to help you as she is working on Scottish Records and may be able to assist you in seeing if these Batches may have been put in another place. If you don't mind reposting your question there, maybe she will be able to help you.

    I hope that you can find what you are looking for.

    Shannon
