New To Research Can Someone Help
I am posting this for Douglas Abbot Mann who contacted me in a message
My mother-in-law was born in Scotland. She migrated to America when she was 4 years old. Her mother and father were born and raised in Scotland. The surnames that I would be interested in are Douglas (Sadie B. (Douglas) Mann 21 February 1916 – 27 December 2017, L1HT-66 - Family Search code), William Douglas (her father) 1888 – Deceased, G7NV-2C7 - Family Search code, Jeanne Robertson (her mother) 1889 – 1943 GZTG-55K Family Search Code), Euphemia Hogg (her grandmother) about 1845 – Deceased G85N-CDC. I would LOVE to learn so much more about our ancestors in Scotland. I am a beginner and I am not sure what steps (or where I should go) on FamilySearch to find this information. I am also interested in paying for research that is done, too. Sadie Blythe (Douglas) Mann was born in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, Scotland.

Looking at Euphemia Hogg in FamilySearch, she has two duplicates listed. One has her marriage to Walter Douglas (973L-YPC), and one has her siblings and parents, (KCT7-793) . The one with her parents has additional record hints for census records you may add. It also has the source for her christening record.
I would first merge those.
I see you have a nice tree on Ancestry already. You might want to transfer the exact dates and places over to FamilySearch as well. This will help with others helping you.
You may of course search records using FamilySearch, but I also enjoy using Scotlandspeople. I know it is a pay per view site, but you can find many things without actually viewing the record and there is a free 1881 census.
Ancestry has quite a few records for her. Findmypast also has some. Since her name is not so common, it is somewhat easier to research.
After that I would look for her siblings and find records for them.
Myko Clelland has very good videos about Scottish research. He can be found on Findmypast and YouTube.
Since your tree is already back in the late 1700, are you looking for further back or to fill out the stories of their lives?
